The foundation of La Paz
The La Paz Foundation Festivities are just around the corner, so the government invites you to be part of the long-awaited annual event, where in addition to the presentations of great national and local artists, there is usually a specific number where the staging of the landing of Hernán Cortés to these lands is performed, traditionally known as “Landing in the Bay of Santa Cruz”, this year by the theater group directed by the cultural promoters of the Municipal Directorate of Culture.
Represented by talented young people, this number creatively shows the pre-Hispanic period in the Baja California Sur peninsula, exposing a little of the daily life of the tribes (Pericú, Guaycura and Cochimi).
Dare to contemplate such a magnificent dramatization in which this process of conquest is shown, enjoy its dances and interpretations, learn more about the important history of this port of illusion, the same one that dazzled Hernán Cortés with its beauty and richness in pearls, attractive for which wonderful legends have arisen.
La Paz is on its way to 500 years, barely celebrating its 487th Anniversary, because due to the distance it was tried to colonize it on several occasions without success, from 1535 with the arrival of Cortés, to 1596 with Sebastián Vizcaíno, who named this paradise as La Paz where they later managed to found the first missions in 1720 and closed due to smallpox in 1749 reducing the population, and it is not until 1974 when La Paz becomes the capital of Baja California Sur.
Be part of this incredible celebration and stay at the Sevencrown hotel, we have an excellent location and comfort for you and your family, enjoy the traditional festivities without worries since we have the security you need.
