There is a considerable amount of legends all over Mexico, each one with extremely interesting mystical elements that give us an entrance to the culture and customs of this colorful country, this type of narrations with supernatural overtones, are transmitted from generation to generation becoming a fundamental part for Mexicans, it is even very possible that there is at least one legend in each state, city, town and even neighborhood.

These anecdotes pass from mouth to mouth and its popularity becomes so great that despite the passage of time many would swear that they were real events of which there are still sequels that in some way or another and can resurface in our present, as is the typical case of the weeping woman who is present with wailing that bristle the skin of many late at night.

In Baja California Sur there is a chapel in memory of the Niña Vidente, who became an icon of our state. In 1979 the writer Carlos Domínguez Tapia won first place in the Floral Games, a literary contest in Mulegé, giving written form to this legend, for some, a reason for fear and chills, while for many others she is a miraculous entity, so year after year people with a problem or a request turn to her for help. If you are curious about this chapel and its history, don’t leave Baja California Sur without first venturing to make a stop at the Chapel of Triumph in honor of Winter Yrenea Ojeda Rouyer, the girl with the gift of clairvoyance who predicted that a church would collapse, leading her predictions to a catastrophe for her family due to the people’s fear of her superhuman knowledge.
