One of the activities that has given recognition to St. Joseph of Comondú is that before the Holy Week holidays, starts the season for sugar cane harvesting, the base ingredient that brings to life the typical sweetener for talega coffee and a large amount of food and drink. Being in that vacation period, you cannot miss the opportunity to visit San José and take an interesting tour, where you can see what its preparation is, from the harvest of the cane, the extraction of its juice, contemplating the rustic tools, the cooking of the ingredients accompanied by pieces of the orange peel, previously dehydrated, to later be put in the traditional molds. And as if that weren’t enough, you will be able to nurture its history and the history of the natives residing in this location.
In addition, you can visit the mission of San José and tour the Sierra de La Giganta, where there are caves with cave paintings, as well as abundant flora and fauna.
