This island is located 24 kilometers from the municipality of Loreto in Baja California Sur. Its extension is four square kilometers, although it is a small island, it has huge surprises prepared in its flora and fauna, it is a perfect sanctuary for various marine species.

Its name comes from the pre-Columbian communities, the Guaycuras, Cochimíes and Pericu tribes used this small island to perform different dancing rituals towards their deities so that they gave them good rainy seasons. That is why the island is known as the Dancing Island.

Not only is the history of this place interesting, another curiosity of Danzante Island is that it is known as a perfect protection against ships, since it has multiple cliffs, some measuring more than 150 meters, which prevent boats from reaching it . But this is not a disadvantage, on the contrary, due to the low human activity, the Dancing Island has become a sanctuary of the marine diversity existing in the Sea of ​​Cortez. On this island you can find several species, especially: sea lions, dolphins, a variety of fish, different seabirds, as well as the curious species, Bobo blue legs, which is a very difficult bird to see worldwide, because it is only found concentrated in small parts along the globe.

The Dancing Island is characterized by being able to practice different aquatic activities, especially those that allow us to observe the diversity and beauty of the nature that surrounds the island, such as snorkeling, which allows us to live with different weights and sea lions.
