Mexico is a country rich in culture and history, because visiting the centers of the cities or towns of the country is moving to different times that are predecessors of what is currently Mexico. Baja California Sur could not be left behind and it houses some small constructions that date back to the time of the Spanish Conquest and that have the historical wealth that Baja California Sur has. These buildings are known as the Missions.

These churches are distributed throughout the state, despite having been in their time around 20, currently and due to deterioration, abandonment or various situations, 9 of them remain standing and are located in: Loreto, San Javier, Mulegé, Santa Gertrudis; it is found in a population that belongs to Baja California, San Borja, La Paz, San Luis Gonzaga; which is preserved in its original state, Todos Santos and Los Cabos.

All these buildings were built between 1697 and 1740, they are simple buildings that sought the spread of religion by native communities and teach agriculture to create sedentary communities, because at that time, the different tribes that populated Baja California Sur were nomadic, for This, establishing central buildings and a population was very important for the Spanish conquest project.

There are different tours or ways to access the different missions, those with the easiest access are those found in the most tourist cities in the state, I mean the one in La Paz, Los Cabos and Loreto, the latter was the first to be founded. On the other hand, the mission that is in La Paz has undergone various modifications that give it a more modern and aesthetic appearance, but always maintaining its essence as a building belonging to the neighborhood and maintaining its period appearance.
